This year the HOPS BOPS Homebrew Competition will be the qualifying event for participation
in the Extreme Homebrew Challenge
at Jose Pistola's
during Philly Beer Week 2013.
|
Winners of the selected categories* will be invited to pour their beers at the premier
homebrewing event sponsored by Dogfish Head, Home Sweet Homebrew and Jose Pistola's.
At the event, Sam will select a brewer to venture down to the DFH brewery and co-brew the beer
with him and his staff. This beer will then be poured at a future Great American Beer Festival
where it will be judged with other Pro Am beers.
|
The fine print:
- You must enter one of the below listed categories* in the HOPS BOPS and place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
- You must be a member of the AHA at the time of the HOPS BOPS; at the time of the Extreme Homebrew
Challenge; and at the time of the GABF Pro Am competition.
- You must be willing to attend and pour at the Extreme Homebrew Challenge and provide beer for
evaluation at that time. You will need to provide either one case of bottles or one half-filled five-gallon
Corny keg (and set-up) for the event. Beer can be re-brewed for the event.
- Decisions made by Sam Calagione or his representative(s) are final (and not necessarily rational!).
- Any other rational decisions necessary will be made by the sponsors, and are also final.
*Only the following categories are eligible to participate:
- 17F Fruit Lambic
- 21A Spice, Herb or Veg. beer
- 21B X-mass or Winter Spiced Ale
- 22B Other Smoke Beer
- 22C Wood aged beer
- 23 Specialty Beer
